Hi, friend. I am Kiwi and I am a sweet 9-pound Pomeranian. I am 3 years young and looking for my new home.

Cuddling and being held is something I very much enjoy and makes my heart so happy. I could melt in your arms and stay in them all day long. I am a quiet and calm boy and I love everyone, including kids, cats, and other dogs. Playing with other dogs is so much fun and they have taught me so much! I have become quiet the independent man! I could be your only dog or I could join the pack. 

I love being in my dog bed where I can watch the daily happenings in the household. Treats are sooooo good and I am such a good boy when I take them, so gentle! I love my squeaky toys and I even sleep with my favorite one, it’s adorable! Don't I sound charming already?

I am learning how to potty outside and doing well. I wear a little belly band in the house right now so I don’t mark up the place. And crates – yuck! I am not a fan of crates. I only go in one when I eat meals. If you make a really comfy one for me, I could get used to it. They remind me of my scary past. 

As you can see in my photos, I have little fur and don't look much like a Pomeranian right now. My foster mom has taken good care of me and now my fur is coming in very well! She says it feels like velvet. I will need a continued healthy diet to aid in the regrowth of my fur. I love to lie in the sun, though I do need some protection while my hair is growing. Maybe these are things you could help me with – I would really love that.

If you are looking for a calm little gentleman who simply wants some love and a soft bed to sleep in every night, I am your guy! 

Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.

ADOPTION EVENTS:     

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
