Helloooooo! My name is Taryn and I am a cute little 8-year old Pomeranian, weighing in at 12 pounds.

 

I am new to rescue and am still adjusting to my surroundings. I am a little timid around new people, but I quickly warm up and see that people are nice. I already have started putting my paw on my foster mom’s arm to get attention. My foster mom thinks I will open up quickly in any new home! And honestly, I am super cute!

 

Okay, food is my FAVORITE! I do a little dance when my meal is being prepared and I enjoy bully sticks and pig ears. I take them oh so delicately from human hands. I am now discovering toys and still haven’t quite figured out what they are yet. I think I will grow to love them though.

 

I am potty trained on a schedule and try to alert my foster mom when I need to go to the bathroom. I am not 100% there yet, but hope to be soon! I am crated when my family leaves for the day and I do well. The only time I make a fuss is when I know you’re home in a separate room. Like, why can’t I come into the bathroom with you!?

 

I am learning a couple commands, like “wait” and “shake.” I’ve mastered “wait” and am about to dominate the infamous dog shake next. My foster mom says I am a very smart and trainable girl! What more can you ask from a dog – I am quite the gem and sweetie! I would love to meet you and spend the rest of our days together – when are you available?!

 

Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.

ADOPTION EVENTS:     

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
