Peanut Butter is new to our rescue, he is about 10 years old and 10 pounds.
He is elated to be free from a life in a commercial breeding facility!
Even though he spent so much time locked up, he is rarely seen not wagging his tail. He's a sweet quiet little boy who really wants to be noticed.
PB makes good eye contact and looks to you for reassurance. He is not always sure of what he's supposed to do.
He will keep an eye on where everyone is in the house. He'll take a nap when he knows everyone is not doing anything he'll miss out on.
Peanut Butter gets along great with all dogs and cats. He's been seen playing with other playful dogs. He does need a companion dog in his forever home as he looks to other dogs for guidance. We think he'd enjoy another dog who is affectionate and social.
He already walks really well on a leash and it seems to be one of his favorite things! Although he is slightly shy right now, he is a very social boy and loves to greet 2 legged and 4 legged friends. He loves car rides and enjoys looking out the windows. It seems he can't believe how big this new world is and loves every minute of it! A fenced in yard would be ideal for PB as he loves to sun himself, explore, and peek at the neighbors. PB also does well in a crate when noone is home. He's mastered most stairs already too!
Being new to life in a home he is learning to potty on a schedule. He will go out in the yard or on walks.
PB is just full of life and can't wait for every new day to begin!
One of PB's bio photos is shortly after he was rescued. He's all cleaned up now and his hair is growing back as you can see!
Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.

ADOPTION EVENTS:
Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.
ADOPTION PROCEDURE:
The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website:
Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.
All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.
FOSTER CARE:
All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications and fill out a foster application.
NUTRITION:
Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets. All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet. All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
