Miss Zoey is a sweet little girl wanting to learning all about what life has to offer.  She loves to be outside walking on a leash  just  as much as she likes  snuggling  on the couch watching her favorite tv shows.  She is learning to trust her two legged friends but if you scratch her ears she is yours!  She even loves to go to the small dog park and learn what it means to be a dog (the pictures in her profile are in her favorite park).  She follows her foster mom and foster four legged sister around everywhere so she won ’t miss a thing.  She is fine with small and large dogs alike as long as they are gentle.   Everyone that meets Zoey wants to hold her but she  gets a little nervous when anyone tries to pick her up, so her family came up with the command  ‘ Up ’.  When Zoey hears the command ‘Up’  she will then get ready and crouch down on the floor to signal she is ready to be picked up.  That way she knows that you do not intend to hurt her when  picked up .  Zoey  sleeps in her  crate at night and is fine being left home alone as long as she has her fluffy bed or blanket to take a nap on and a potty pad to use if she has to go potty.   Her first 8+ years were tough and niceties like potty training will come after she can trust people more. Right now when you take her  outside  she will only potty on the sidewalk or driveway as she doesn ’t quite understand what grass is for.   She does have a weakness-she loves lite kettle popcorn and yogurt; she would love to share some with you too!  Zoey has a sweet and loving soul, d o you have it in your heart to give Zoey the home where she can find her inner diva?

ADOPTION EVENTS:     

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
