About Patisse
Status: Adopted!
Species: Dog
Housetrained: Yes
* I WILL BE AT THIS SATURDAY'S ADOPTION EVENT, 1/12/08 FROM 12:30-2:30 AT URBANIMAL (located at 2106 Lyndale Ave S. in Minneapolis, ph. for directions is 612-879-0709). Patisse is a sweet gentleman who is ready to be someone's quiet, mellow friend. He is a great house-dog and is very well-mannered. He knows to go potty ouside & will "hold it" when he is in his crate. This is amazing considering that he was rescued from an awful puppy mill. To read all about the puppy mill he came from, please view the following link: http://www.caps-web.org/view_investigation_report.php?id=112
This puppy mill is still up & running right in our state of Minnesota and the conditions have not improved. Patisse and 17 other dogs of various breeds were all rescued from this puppy mill. Some of the dogs had missing eyes, severe infections and were in an extreme state of neglect. Poor Patisse is 12-14 years of age. He has never been held or known love from a human. When we rescued him the only thing on his neck was a chain and a tag that bore his USDA breeding number. It just breaks your heart to think of the years that we spent trapped in a puppy mill when he could be where he is now, curled up on a dog bed in a warm house. We have now had Patisse neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested and he has had a complete dental. This sweet boy had the worst teeth that our vet had ever seen in 30+ years of practice. He had all but two teeth removed during his dental. The Vet would have removed the last two as well, had poor Patisse not been so fragile. The Vet feared removing any more teeth would likely fracture his delicate jaw. His mouth was so badly infected that it has resulted in a heart murmur. Patisse is such a sweet guy who loves oher dogs. We are so happy and feel so lucky to be able to find him a loving home where he can spend the remainder of his years in comfort and peace. Patisse would prefer to go to a home with at least one other older dog to keep him company. For more information or to meet Patisse, please call Shannon at 952-929-0777.
