About Lambchop

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Housetrained: Yes
Lambchop is very quiet & gets along well with other dogs. She would likely be fine as an only dog too. She was rescued from a Puppy Mill & is shy at first but does warm up pretty quickly. She is hilarious to watch play with toys & bones. Lambie is about 3 years of age. She is doing very well on her house-training & is crate-trained & potty pad trained. Here is a note from her foster Mom: This little girl is a rescue from a puppy mill. She hasn't known life in a real home, but she is eager to become a much-loved member of your family. She is about 10 pounds, and we estimate that she is a young adult dog (focus on the young part). Her teeth are in good shape and she has lots of energy to chase toys, so she seems much more puppy-like than a seasoned dog. Like many Bichons, she has some food allergies, so her ideal family would be very careful what they feed her in order to keep her feeling her best. Lambie loves to have her chin rubbed, enjoys chasing and chewing on toys, is quick to learn routines, and is very affectionate once she feels comfortable. In her foster home, she is very friendly to the other dogs, and loves to have the other dogs to play with her. She gets nervous when the tv is on and barks at the people she hears through the speakers. As a solution, if you hold her on your lap during tv sessions, she calms down right away. It is clear that she aims to please her people, as she responds well to instructions and plays with dog toys rather than furniture. This little one is learning new "real dog" skills each day and is eager to meet a family who can continue to gently teach her the ropes. We think she would prefer to have a home with another dog, but she very well may get all the socialization she needs from her human family as well. Please consider inviting her to be part of your family. For more information, please call us at 952-929-0777. To fill out an online adoption application please visit our website. ADOPTION EVENTS:

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website:
Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
