Here is a note from Olive's foster family:
Olive loves to play with just about anything - squeaky toys (these are made to be de-stuffed, right?), tennis balls, foster mom's clothes... anything. Also loves to chew, and has recently discovered the joys of a kong. She will carry that thing around the house at lightning speed, as if to say "look what I have!" Olive has learned a lot from her foster sister, Roxy. She looks to her a fair amount for guidance, and follows her lead in unknown situations. Olive does beautifully with other small dogs - even barkers. She is very calm and submissive with them, but don't let that fool you! She will walk right up to the resident dog and steal a toy right out from under her. Olive is wary of children, and would need a home with older, respectful children. The large neighbor dogs frighten her, but they do bark a fair amount. Based on how well Olive responds to small dogs, I believe she would do well with a calm, quiet large dog.
Olive is progressing very well with her potty training. We are training her on potty pads in the house. She does not yet go to them on her own, but if you bring her into the room and tell her to go potty, she marches right over to the pad and does her "business". She has been successful in her crate for up to 4 hours. We pushed it to 5 hours one day, and came home to a poopy crate. She would need continued, dedicated work on this to proceed to longer times alone. Also, she absolutely would need to be crated when not supervised - she LOVES to chew, and hasn't learned that woodwork / power cords / you name it is off limits. Still very much a puppy in that regard. Loves chewing on nylabones - would do it all day if I would let her. Carrots are a newfound treat - wouldn't eat them until she say Roxy doing it, now it's one of her favorites.
Olive took to the ramps in the house like a pro. Her favorite place is in the "big bed"; she is an amazing snuggler! She would love nothing better than to just snuggle with her people, all day long (see attached pic "Olive Sleepy". Mornings are really fun with her - she wags her tail so furiously that it wiggles her whole body. Loves to body slam you in the morning as a way to wake you up - and at a mere 8 lbs, it's pretty cute.
Olive is about 1-2 years of age and was rescued from a puppy mill. For more infomation, please call us at 952-929-0777.

Underdog Rescue animals are fostered in individual homes. While they are in our care, they are part of our families. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as Solid Gold, Canidae, or Orijen pet food. Each is given lots of love. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves.
