Pebbles will be at the following adoption events in July from 12:30 to 2:30: Sunday, July 7th - It's a Pet's Life in Edina Sunday, July 21st - It's a Pet's Life in Edina All of our foster dogs can be seen by appointment. Email Us Meet Pebbles, a petite 4.5lb Yorkie who was rescued from a puppy mill after living life locked up in a kennel for 5 or 6 years (best guess on her age). She's a super sweet little girl who enjoys snuggles and being with her person, especially being carried, as she can see what is going and feels secure. She's very timid and will need some time getting used to her freedom, but she's progressing nicely. She gets along well with her 10lb foster siblings (a male and a female), she doesn't mind them at all. Pebbles gets excited when her foster parents come home, an active part of the welcoming committee. She loves her doggy beds and also kennels very well, she sleeps in her wire crate at night with her foster sister. During the day she's given free roam of a dog safe area with her foster siblings, but has been kenneled up to 5 hrs without any issue. She's very inquisitive and seems to have a perpetual smile. We've never heard her bark! Pebbles is learning the ropes when it comes to potty training and picking it up quickly. She uses potty pads frequently, has a mishap here and there, and goes great when brought outside and told to 'potty-potty'. She's a GREAT eater! No fussiness with this little Yorkie girl, she loves her mealtimes. She's currently eating grain free premium dog food; Orijen 6 Fish Recipe mixed equally with Holistic Select Salmon and Anchovy & Sardine Meal Recipe soaked for a little while in warm water before feeding, for a delicious meal variety. She's learning to love treats such as strawberries, blueberries, carrots and dog treats such as pig ears and duck feet. She LOVES chewing on them. She would be a wonderful companion for an established family with children who are old enough to understand and respect her miniature size and would especially benefit from being in a home with another dog where she can observe and learn what being a dog is about. Pebbles is ready to go to her awesome forever home, where she will be spoiled and treated like the little angel she is for the rest of her life, which she's so deserving of. ADOPTION EVENTS:     

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
