Hi, I'm Billy. I am about 8 years old, we think. When I first came to Underdog, I was really timid and didn't want to come out from my hiding spots. It took a few months but now I'm really brave. I like to hang out on the couch, and on my foster mom's bed. I will even jump into my humans' laps when I want cuddles. Really, I just want to be next to my human most of the time. I'm my foster mom's shadow all day.
I am such a good hunter and I'm so fast. I really like the laser toy - I haven't caught that red dot yet, but one of these days, I'm going to catch it. I like catnip and toys that jingle. I also like to be on top of my cat tree so I can look out the window at all the birds and squirrels and bunnies. And I love being brushed. My foster mom says that's why my fur is so soft.
I have gotten comfortable around the resident cats, but I really want to chase them and play, and they don't like that. I would probably be OK with a playful cat in the house. Otherwise, I'll need play time with my humans every day. I do get protective about my food and sometimes like to eat away from other cats so I know I can finish my food without sharing. I'm safe around kids but I will probably hide from them for a long time. I have started sniffing my human foster sister's feet (stinky!) and she can brush me. I have only met a few dogs and I was so scared, I hid the whole time. My ideal home: someone who likes to cuddle me, dog free, I could be an only cat (or with other playful ones), and older, respectful kids who won't pester me.
I like to tip over water dishes! My foster mom uses heavy water fountains and I don't tip them, but sometimes I splash a bit just to keep her on her toes. I'm great at using my litter box. I hate having my nails clipped, but I am good at using a scratching post. And my foster mom says I get kitty acne, but using a metal water fountain has solved it. My foster mom says my forever people will need to be patient for a few months while I settle in, but I'm worth the wait.

ADOPTION EVENTS:
Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.
ADOPTION PROCEDURE:
The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website:
Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.
All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.
FOSTER CARE:
All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications and fill out a foster application.
NUTRITION:
Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets. All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet. All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
