Hi!  I’m Mona Lisa!  You know, like the painting?  Except you can touch me and give me loads of pets!  Plus, I think I’m prettier than the painting, don’t you?  I’m a tiny girl of just 7 pounds, I’m an adult Maltese, who had to have surgery to repair a hernia.  It’s all okay now though because the dogtor fixed me right up!  This means that my baby making days are over and I can retire in luxury! 

I am a very friendly and playful lady.  I’m the first one to greet visitors when they come to the house.  And, I usually do that with my tail in full swing!  I’ve used my smarts to figure out that I can slip through the slats on the fence, so keeping me on a leash is likely best.  If not, you might need to watch me really close.  You see, once I find you I certainly wouldn’t want to lose you.  And, I really love to explore things.  So because I’m tiny, you will have to make sure I don’t slip away if I don’t have a leash on! 

My mostest favoritist thing ever is a toy with a squeaker.  Do you have any of those?  Do you think you could get some?  I really do love them so very much! 

I also like the small humans too.  So if you have any, we would be friends.  I’m also good with other small and medium size doggos.  I haven’t yet met any large doggos so we’d have to see how that went.  I do like cats too.  I just let them be and do my best to ensure I’m respectful of them.  I would be okay being your only four legged friend, but then I’d want to make sure you are home most of the time.  If you aren’t home most of the time, then I would like a doggy friend to be with. 

I’m not quite potty trained, but I’m learning.  I am trying real hard and I’m sure I can get it.  My smarts are there, I just need a little more time.  I’m also working on getting better at the leash thing.  It’s a new thing to me but my foster mom says I’m making good progress. 

I do bark but usually only when I’m alarmed. 

I’m truly a very happy little girl.  I love to play with toys and run in circles around the house.  I also love me some snuggles.  I like to be close to my people.  If that sounds like something you’d like I sure would like to meet you!  What do you say?

ADOPTION EVENTS:     

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
