Hi there! My name is Niles and I’m a sweet, cute, gentle and tiny 8 lb. male Yorkie that is about 4 years old. I’m super calm and quiet.  I love to snuggle and sleep in your lamp and I love to go for walks.  I walk on the leash like a little champion so I won’t need a fenced yard.  I’m friendly with other dogs, and even cats (!) and my little stub tail goes like crazy when I see another dog.  I will need to be in a forever home with another small dog to keep me company.  I also love to go for car rides and sit very nicely like the little gentleman I am when I am riding in the car.  I also love to chase mini tennis balls!  That’s so fun!

I’ll be best in a home with older kids just because I am so small and because quick movements and lots of commotion are scary to me.  I’m not quite potty trained but I am really close especially when I am kept on a good schedule.  I don’t bark unless something alarms me. 

I’m wonderful in my ex-pen when foster mom has to go out.  I get so excited when she comes home and I want to get out and happily greet her.  I sleep in a crate next to foster mom at night but I wouldn’t argue if you wanted me to sleep with you instead.  (Wink, wink).  I don’t have any teeth left due to a dental I needed but I keep my tongue firmly inside my mouth, anyway.  Well, a little bit of it may escape when I’m sleeping but that just makes me even cuter.  If that’s possible.

ADOPTION EVENTS:     

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
