Hi, my name is Pebbles and I am a sweet little girl that just wants to be your shadow. I want to be wherever you are – because that is the best place to be!

My foster family is working with me on lots of dog skills. We are working on walking with a loose leash – apparently pulling foster mom down the sidewalk isn’t how this works – hee hee! If she gives me some good treats I am a good listener. We are also working on crate training – I do best if my crate is covered when I need to go inside.

Changing to a new home is always tricky, but I have shown my people that with a little patience and routine, I am a potty training champion! I don't require another dog in my Forever Home, but it would help me continue learning how to be a dog. Another dog will show me proper social skills and help me get on a routine. Sometimes I can be picky about my dog friends, but now that I am learning most just want to play with me, I'm getting better! You see, I spent the first few years of my life as a breeder and didn't really get socialized with other dogs like most do.  I would really love it if my forever family took me to dog school! It would be a good way for us to get to know each other and for me to build some confidence. I do get a little anxious when my people are not home and haven’t figured out how to just chill in my crate like the other dogs. Foster Mom has figured out the key to my naps and quite time is getting my energy out. I am a smart girl and both physical and mental stimulation are things I enjoy - so let's check out this fun world together!  A little patience, a good routine, and love is what I need to be the best me.

I love bully sticks and toys – chew toys are awesome and a good way for me to use up some energy! Although foster mom says that I need supervision because sometimes I chew things I shouldn’t – apparently lamp cords and slippers are a no-no! The other thing I do is leap over things! Foster mom was really surprised so see that I jumped a gate and have even jumped onto the dining table! What can I say, I just like to be near my people?! I also really loved meeting those kitty cat things - too much they tell me. So, I'd do best in a home without cats because those were way too much fun to chase! oops!

I know that I will thrive if we go to doggy school together! It would be a great way to build my confidence and for us to get to know each other. I am a smart girl that will a little training promises to be your best friends and a certified good girl.

Love and smooches, Pebbles

Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.

ADOPTION EVENTS:

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website:
Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.
All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
