Hi there everyone! My name is Pepa and I’m a Goldendoodle puppy. I’ve heard people say I am as cute as they come, so I think you really might want to give me a forever home. I know cute isn’t everything you are looking for though, so let me tell you about myself. I’m less than a year old, and I weigh about 35 pounds, so I am still growing.
I am very curious, so I follow Foster Mom around when she is in the house. I just want to see what she is doing and find out if I can help. When I’m not following her around, I am go, go, go. Pick a toy, move it around, play with it for a minute and then I go pick a different one and do it again. So I would like lots of toys at my forever home. Foster Mom says I still need supervision when I am not in my kennel. I guess my exploring is indiscriminate, so I need supervision while I learn what is okay and what is not!
I am potty trained, but sometimes I have a little excitement pee right when I come out of the kennel. You know that puppies often have that problem until they are more mature. Anyway, my Foster Mom is so smart…. she put my kennel right by the door so I can go outside the moment she lets me out of the kennel, and that has helped me a lot. I can hold it all night too… no problem! I guess you could say I am kennel trained too, but I don’t always want to go in there if I think the door is going to be closed. But I don’t bark in there, and if the door is open, I will often just hang out in there.
I have gone for a walk on a leash and I do okay if I have my harness on. But I won’t go potty on a leash (a girl needs some privacy), so I will need a fenced in yard at my forever home. I absolutely love to run around out there and play with my friends. I like to play with the big dogs that live here. We play nicely, so I think if I did meet smaller dogs, I’d probably get along with them too. I don’t know if I’d like meowers or not, because I’ve never met any.
I don’t like loud noises. I do like milk bones, chewy bones and tennis balls. I keep forgetting I’m not supposed to jump up on people, but I’m working hard to remember all the things I should and shouldn’t do, so I really want some puppy training so I can be my best. I take a few minutes to warm up to someone new, but a few belly rubs and some snuggling and cuddling and I will be your best friend! I can’t wait to snuggle with you!
Love,
Pepa
I’m a growing puppy and I have not yet had a lot of experience with crates, kids or cats and I might bark if something alarms me, but I really love to learn and hoping for a family who will take me to a basic obedience class to continue to help me build confidence and dog skills. Ideally my forever home would need to be home during the day to help me with my potty training and not leave me for breaks longer than 3 – 4 hours. If you are looking for a best friend, please fill out the puppy application. The more info you include on the application the better so I can find a good match for my forever home. Get your toy box ready!
**Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who had a past life as a breeder or stray and was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work!
**Grooming - this dog's coat may have been neglected before arriving at Underdog and it can sometimes take months to get their coat healthy as poodles and poodle mixes require daily brushing. Grooming appointments occur every 3 months and cost on average $150 per appointment. Adopters should be prepared for such expenses. Underdog Rescue cannot guarantee the non-shedding or hypoallergenic qualities of this dog.
Some of our dogs are obtained from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. Others have come from various situations where they are lacking confidence in humans. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.
This puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.
We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion.
Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.
Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application.
We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward.
