Hello, my name is Ida, a beautiful and happy adult corgi. I enjoy spending time in the backyard, hanging out with my people and relaxing in a soft dog bed. The most important part of my day is the time I spend with my people – getting a little affection and quiet time with them is the best way to end a busy day.

I am a mellow gal that is a champion at taking naps and hanging out with my people. I am a quiet co-worker and stay to myself while my people are working from home. The other dogs in the house don’t bother me, we all are pretty calm and good fur kids. I don’t need another dog in my forever home, but if there is one to show me the ropes that would be fun!

We are working on leash training and started going on short walks, my little legs are short so I don’t go far, so a fenced in yard would be best for me. Going potty in the fenced yard is much preferred over going potty on a leash and sometimes our walks are more of a wander since I sometimes don’t go forward. Speaking of the backyard – I am a potty training champion on a routine – another reason why the fenced yard is so great!

My people help me up and down the stairs so would love a forever home that doesn’t have a lot of stairs – my short little legs just get worn out with so many stairs! My foster family also helps me walk thru doors – not sure why, but doors sometimes worry me and I stop and sit – foster dad says “break” and then I am ready to go thru.

I have not met any kids or cats, but am a gentle girls so with some slow intros I might be fine with those meowy things! I am a pretty smart girl and starting to work on “sit” and “come” – in addition to my “break” command I have a lot of potential to learn more!

There’s one thing missing from my life and that’s YOU! All I ask is that you promise to love me unconditionally and never give up on me! I really hope we’re able to meet soon because I cannot wait to begin my new life with my furever family!! Love, Ida

Some of our dogs are obtained from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. Others have come from various situations where they are lacking confidence in humans. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.

ADOPTION EVENTS:

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website:
Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.
All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
