Hello all you Yorkie lovers out there!  My name is Nellie.  I’m an adorable 5 lb. lady who is about 8 years old.  Foster mom says I am amazing!  So far I have loved every person and every dog I have ever met.  I am super well behaved, if I do say so myself, and I am loving life!  Foster mom says I am her shadow because I just love to follow her around and see what she is up to.  I am a good eater and not fussy at all.   I show my appreciation for each healthy meal and treat by doing a little wiggle dance.  I love to look out the window and I get so happy and excited whenever someone walks by.

I am a very smart girl, in addition to being so cute and adorable, and I know what the words ‘come’, ‘outside’ and ‘go potty’ mean.  Pretty impressive, no?  I’m not quite there with potty training or leash walking but I am a work in progress.  I just need a forever someone who is kind and patient to keep working with me until I get it.  I do not need a fenced yard, though, because I will go potty just fine on leash. 

I’m not sure how I would be around those little kids under age 12 or with bigger dogs.  I’m pretty small so I might get injured by them.  I’ve never been around those furry things that meow so I’m not sure if I would like them or not.  I can get scared by sudden loud noises – but who doesn’t!!?  I’ve always been around other dogs and I love to snuggle and nap with them so I’m not sure if I need another dog around or not since I really prefer just being with my foster mom.

Foster mom says that I am a sweet and snuggly girls who only barks when alarmed.  I’m doing great with my training and I mostly just want to be snuggled and loved.  Sometimes I am very quiet and sometimes I get the zoomies!  It’s so cute when I do!  I will make someone a wonderful companion.  Could that be you?

ADOPTION EVENTS:     

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
