Hello, my name is Jackson and I am the perfect combination of smart, friendly and fun! I am a handsome one-year-old male shih tzu mix. My people love me so much! They say that I am an amazing cuddler and I agree! I love it when they scritch my belly and back.

My people said I am doing great with all the doggy basics – I am a potty training champion and doing great on a routine, my people say I am very smart! Food is very motivating to me, so I have been responsive to training. Speaking of food – I love it! I love meal time and treat time – I sure wish treat time was all the time! My people say that I am a good eater and love my kibble, but I also love that they spruce up my meals by adding fruit and veggies – yum!

In addition to eating and getting affection from my people, I love going on leashed walks and car rides, relaxing and resting in my kennel. My people let me sleep in the bed with them … I don’t think they want to miss out on one minute of snuggling with me! Hee, hee!!! Anyway, I have not met any cats, but am great with all dog-friendly dogs.

I really love running and playing in the yard with my resident fur sibs and not only are they great playmates, but they show me where all the sneaky squirrels are hiding and the best spots to dig. I don’t need a fenced yard in my forever home, but would love one to run around and play. Otherwise I am great on the leash and love going for walks to get exercise.

I am ready to find my forever family and go on adventures, snuggle on the couch, play with toys and share some treats (don’t forget the treats!). I am a very cute and smart boy that simply needs a patient family who promises to love me unconditionally and NEVER give up on me! Let’s face it, MY love is forever so I need YOURS to be too!!  I promise that our life together will be more incredible than you could possibly imagine!! Love, Jackson

ADOPTION EVENTS:     

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
