Hi I'm Lance! I'm a happy, and I must say, a very handsome guy who is looking for a family to love me. I just love my doggie friends and enjoy running with them and playing outside. They are teaching me what it means to be a confident and carefree boy and what's it's like to be a dog. I I do need a doggie in my future home so they can continue showing me the ropes and how to give something called puppy dog eyes. Maybe I already know that one because my foster mama tosses me treats to eat haha! Food is pretty much the way to my heart. I am doing well with my crate and potty training - leash training is still new to me, so a fenced in yard is needed. Because I am still a bit timid around humans and quick moving things, I don't think young kids would be a match for me right now. Once I get more used to life in a home, I might enjoy meeting some, but for to live with one probably wouldn't be the right fit for me. You see, I spent the first few years of my life as a breeding stud, so this whole living in a home thing is still new to me.

When it comes to people I'm still a bit skittish, but once I get to know you, I'm your best friend. I follow my foster mama around and like to know what she's doing. I enjoy having my chin scratched. That feels so nice! When I'm held I'm tense, but I'm learning to relax and enjoy it. I just need a little time and a family who will love me as I settle in and figure out my new life. Each day is a new step and I hope you'll want to join me on my walk in this life.

Some of our dogs are obtained from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. Others have come from various situations where they are lacking confidence in humans. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.

ADOPTION EVENTS:

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience. NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets. All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet. All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
