Hello, my name is Kiki. I am a gorgeous and happy adult female Boston Terrier who is new to home life, but I am coming out of my shell more and more each day. In fact, I’ve learned that home life is awesome especially when cushy beds and blankets are involved!! Hee, hee!! I would really love it if my forever home had a comfy dog bed in front of a window so I could spend my days laying in the sun and watching the world.

I have not met any cats and I prefer to be around older kids who are respectful of me and my space. I don’t like loud noises, a lot of commotion or quick movements so a quiet home and environment would be best for me and though I am still hesitant of humans I do like men. Since coming to live with foster mom, I have found that following her around the house is quite entertaining and joining her on the couch is a great way to get some pets and snuggles. My favorite pastime is snuggling with my foster fur sibs in their beds or on the couch so my new home definitely needs to have a companion for me who will not mind me invading their personal space! Hee, hee! I especially love my foster brother and I’m one of those pesky little sisters who is always trying to do whatever he does! I am learning about toys and have decided that taking every toy out of the basket is the ONLY way to figure out what each one is all about! Tee, hee!! I am a curious lady who loves exploring the backyard and I’ve even done some leash walking on nice-weather days. I am doing nicely on the leash and will consistently go potty while on the leash.  As for the crate, I sleep in my kennel at night and might need some time adjusting in my furever home, but confident I can do it!

I have skin allergies may need to continue allergy meds and I had a complicated spay that caused issues that may require some medical attention down the road but let me tell you that neither of them has impacted my zest for life!  Apparently one of my previous births or c-sections led to my uterus attaching itself to my bladder - when I went under for my spay, the vet was pretty surprised to find this.  We just need to keep an eye on any future kidney or bladder problems in the future, but right now I have zero issues!  We just aren't sure what how that will affect me long term, but I'm all fixed now!

Anyway, mom says that I’m the “sweetest and happiest girl” which is completely true. All I need now is my furever home with a patient family who will shower me with unconditional love and NOT give up on me. Believe me, I am an angel who will love you bigger than the sky…I promise!! Love, Kiki

Some of our dogs are obtained from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. Others have come from various situations where they are lacking confidence in humans. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.

ADOPTION EVENTS:

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website:
Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.
All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
