Hello, my name is Jake. I am a very sweet and debonair adult male Schnauzer who may be timid and quiet, but I have no problem approaching foster mom for some love and attention!! Hee, hee!! I should also mention that I love to eat and will get, what mom calls, a “bad case of wiggle butt” when she gets the food out, it also happens in the morning, when she greets me! I just love home life so much that I can’t seem to control what my hind-end does! Tee, hee, hee!! Boy, I sure can’t wait until I find my own furever home! I think it’s safe to say that that will be the BEST DAY EVER!!!

I don’t like a lot of commotion, and I have not yet met any cats or kids, nor do I have any leash training because I have the luxury of a fenced yard!! YAY ME! I have however, recently learned about doggie toys and how much fun I have exploring the yard with my resident fur sib! Although I have yet to ‘play’ with him it’s nice having a friend so hopefully I’ll have one at my new home too. Mom says that I have made a lot of progress since coming to live with her for example I come out of safe place more and more each day and I have started bonding with her too and will always look for her when I’m on my backyard recon missions! She gets to be home with me most of the time, but will gate me in the kitchen if she needs to and I don’t bark or have any accidents. Keeping me on a consistent schedule is really helping me to succeed at potty training. Additionally, I have also learned to navigate the couple steps from the yard into the house…how brilliant am I!?!!

Now all I need is YOU!!! Will you please be my new family?? All I need is unconditional love from someone who promises to never give up on me! I promise I will complete you! Love, Jake

ADOPTION EVENTS:     

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
