Hello, my name is Hailey. I am an incredibly beautiful adult female Cavalier King Charles who loves treats and pets! Foster mom says that I’m a “loveable goofball” which is probably true, but the truth is, I just love to be near my people!! I may be shy at first, but I warm up quickly then will scoot in nice and close to my peeps looking for some love and affection! Hee, hee!! In fact, now that I’ve learned how amazing a cushy couch can be, I’m all about lounging on it and will give mom the ‘eye’ …you know, I’ll stare at her until she lifts me up there! She also allows me to sleep in the bed with her because I get lonely in my kennel at night and cry!

I have not met any cats and I don’t know if kids are a good fit for me because I don’t like a lot of commotion or chaos, like when my resident fur sibs get all worked up over the mail carrier. I have not yet ventured out of the yard much so I don’t have a lot of leash training, but I am crate and almost fully potty trained aside from a few embarrassing accidents…I know, not my finest moments but HEY…I’m trying the best I can! Anyway, a wonderfully fenced yard where I can frolic is way too amazing to give up so my new yard will need to be fenced too and I hope to have a companion with whom I can play. I admit I’m a bit of a picky eater as I prefer treats and people food to any type of dog food I’ve tried thus far. My resident fur sibs taught me how to beg when the people-food comes out but don’t worry, I’m polite about it! I am a very sweet and calm girl who craves affection and will do almost anything to get it! For example, one morning I silently and stealthily crawled across the bed to mom and practically laid on her face for some morning cuddles! Additionally, mom thinks that I don’t know how to do stairs yet, but truth be told, it just might be my way of getting mom to carry me up and down them meaning more cuddles for ole Hailey!!! See, I’m no dummy! Hee, hee!!

Well mom calls me a “love monster” who is “beyond sweet and deserves to be spoiled” which is totally true. Are you looking for a little shadow who is simply looking for unconditional love? If you promise to NEVER give up on me then I would love to share my life with YOU! Please be my new family! Love and cuddles, Hailey

Some of our dogs are obtained from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. Others have come from various situations where they are lacking confidence in humans. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.

ADOPTION EVENTS:

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website:
Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.
All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
