Hi! My name is Macie, and I am the sweetest chihuahua you’ll ever meet! I’m only six pounds- so I’m pawsitive that I won’t be too much to handle! According to my foster mom I’m the complete package! Boy am I gonna miss her when I go to my furever home. Anyways, let’s talk about my great behavior at home. I am fur sure not a dawg that is super high energy all the time.  I have started barking a little when visitors come to the house but d on’t worry about me being anxious when you leave, I know you’ll come back!  Besides, I have my resident fur friends that I love to hangout with! That said, I need my furever home to have another dawg that I can play with, so I don’t get lonely! I’ve never met larger boy or girl dogs, but I sure do get along with the dawgs that are my size!

Let’s get down to some more good stuff about me! I’m a young girl that is fairly laid back, I rarely whine or cry a lot at night in my x-pen. I love bully sticks and being held so much that I would be perfectly happy sitting on your lap 24/7!! I’m not pawsitive that I would get along with kids under 12 years old yet, but I sure do get along with my foster mom! I’m still working hard on getting potty trained, but not to worry I learn fast, I will occasionally use potty pads! I’m also working very hard on getting leash trained, meaning I don’t require my furever home to have a fenced yard. As my foster mom would say, I am very “docile” as I respond to commands such as “potty”, “outside”, “come” and "up".   I’m not totally sure I would get along with those furry cats, but I would be willing to try because I know how to listen to my parents. My biggest fear is loud noises, so that’s pretty much the only time I bark! The biggest no-no I’m learning to control is taking other pups’ food, but my foster mom says I’m doing a great job at controlling that!

All in all, I’m pawsitive that you’ll like me and my easygoing self a whole lot!  I get along with other dogs, I eat well, I go potty outside when you walk me on the leash, I listen to my parents, and of course I am so cute (hee hee not to brag!). I can’t wait to be welcomed to my furever home and I promise I will always continue to be my best self when you adopt me. With all my love, Macie.

ADOPTION EVENTS:     

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
