Hello, my name is Kendra. I am a very gorgeous adult female Boston Terrier who is friendly and loving but shy. That said, I am getting better every day!! I have not yet figured out what toys are all about, but I do love going on leashed walks, eating, getting loves and cuddles, giving kisses, following my people around everywhere, and exploring my wonderfully fenced yard! Boy, I sure hope the yard at my new home is fenced because the freedom and security are just too amazing to give up!!

I have not met any kids, but I am always respectful of cats and I’m great with other dogs unless they try to steal affection from my people then I may get a bit ‘alpha’ with them. Hee, hee!! I like all the dogs in my Foster Home and they help show me how to be a real dog. Sometimes, I get jealous though when they come and steal the human attention and I'm working on "sharing" but you see, I never really had much attention until Underdog and now that I enjoy it, it's hard to share!  I could be an only dog, if my humans are home often, and would love to be spoiled rotten. Additionally, though I am crate trained, I would prefer a home where my kennel/crate time is minimal because after all, I am a part of the family too, so I see no reason for me to be in a cage if nobody else needs to be! I have no doubt that YOU understand! As for potty training, well that is a work in progress. I am really good when I’m at home but when foster mom takes me to someone else’s home I piddle a bit everywhere. I certainly don’t try to do it on purpose but my theory is that I get so nervous at other people’s homes that I just can’t help it. Anyway, thankfully foster mom is an amazingly loving and patient lady who always gently corrects me. I am a smart girl who knows what ‘sit’ and ‘outside’ mean so I’m confident that with patience and a consistent schedule I will be able to master potty training.

I think that’s enough about me for now, let’s learn more about you! I am looking for my furever home with a patient family who promises to love me unconditionally and NOT give up on me. If that sounds like you then I would love more than anything to make your acquaintance because I know we would immediately fall in love with each other, and you would bring me to my new home! Please hurry, I promise I’m worth it and I will love you bigger than the universe!! Love and Kisses, Kendra

Some of our dogs are obtained from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. Others have come from various situations where they are lacking confidence in humans. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.

ADOPTION EVENTS:

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website:
Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.
All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
