Hi, my name is Noreen, but I’m used to being called Nori. I’m a young adult Shiba Inu. I weigh about 20 pounds, the perfect size if you ask me!
My foster Mom says I am very sweet and I think she is really sweet too, but I am looking for a forever family. So let me share a bit more about me!
She says I am an absolute joy, great with children, other dogs and cats. Please note, I am prone to developing crystals in my bladder and need prescription food to prevent this! It doesn’t cost any more than any other quality diet, however.
I’m am not a baby, but lots of commotion might make me a little nervous as I’m just not used to it. Other than that, I don’t seem to be upset by anything. I am happy to be groomed, have my nails trimmed, and I love to be held. Sounds like I’m a pretty flexible gal, don’t you think!
I am working on potty training. I hear I am really close when kept on a schedule. I like going for walks on a leash… I’m still new to it, but I do so well that I am one of those rare sweethearts who can potty on a leash and doesn’t require a fenced yard….. as long as you make sure we both get our exercise walking! So add flexibility to the list of positive traits for this girl!
My foster mom says I get along well with other dogs. She thinks I would benefit from another confident canine in my home since I can sometimes be a bit shy, but it’s certainly not a requirement. I have a cat in my foster home and we get along great, she is a pretty smart cat and used to being around dogs. I’m am crate trained and sleep in my kennel at night, but do get a little anxious when home alone. My foster mom says I am her sweet and funny girl at meal time. Just so you know, I do get the zoomies once in a while and like to dance in a little circle when it is treat time. I sure love my snacks! I am a smart girl and listen when you tell me to
come”, “leave it”, “go outside”, and “go potty”!

Some of our dogs are obtained from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. Others have come from various situations where they are lacking confidence in humans. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.

ADOPTION EVENTS:
Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.
ADOPTION PROCEDURE: FOSTER CARE:
All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience. NUTRITION:
Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets. All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet. All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
