Hello, my name is Olivia. I am an incredibly beautiful adult female Chihuahua whose motto is “Let’s get physical…physical!” Yep, I’m the perfect work-out buddy if you want to stay on track! I cheerfully awaken around 5:00 am to remind you it’s time to face the day and eat breakfast! That said, I will join you back in bed after breakfast if you’d like to snooze some more! Ok, so maybe not the ‘perfect work-out buddy’! Hee, hee!! Anyway, I am an alert lady who is interested in everything, especially when it involves being close to foster mom, playing with my fur sibs and small crinkle/squeaky toys, chewing on bones, or eating treats!
I am fearful of loud noises like thunderstorms, and I don’t like a lot of commotion, so I don’t know if kids are a good fit for me. I have not met any cats, but I am good with other dogs. In fact, I really hope there will be a small but confident companion for me at my new home who will help me learn to trust and feel comfortable! I also hope my new yard will be fenced because I don’t have much leash experience and quite frankly the freedom is too amazing to give up! By the way, I don’t like cold weather, but I DO love it when I get treats after going outside! Tee, hee!! I am crate trained but I don’t really need it because foster mom says that I’m not a nuisance during the day. I am still working on potty training and it’s going well as I will do my business outside and on potty pads, but I admit that I still have the occasional accident on the rugs! Thankfully, mom understands I’m not doing it on purpose, and she always handles it with loving patience! She is a very wonderful lady! I am super smart too, I know what ‘come’, ‘outside’, ‘go potty’, ‘bedtime’, and ‘treat’ all mean and learning new things is a bit easier since I’m so food motivated! Hee, hee!!
The only thing missing from my life now is a wonderful furever home with a super patient family who will love me unconditionally, NOT give up on me and who will help me learn to trust again! I have so much love in my heart, and I really hope YOU will be my new family so I can shower you with all of it! Love, Olivia
Some of our dogs are obtained from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. Others have come from various situations where they are lacking confidence in humans. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.

ADOPTION EVENTS:
Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.
ADOPTION PROCEDURE:
The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website:
Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.
All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.
FOSTER CARE:
All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications and fill out a foster application.
NUTRITION:
Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets. All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet. All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
