My name is Kenneth, but you can call me Kenny.  Aren’t I handsome?  I think so if I do say so myself!!!  I do need help with the regular brushing though.  My paws can’t hold the brush very well and I like to have my gorgeous coat clear of mats and stuff.  Plus it makes me more handsome!  Don’t worry though, I do like being brushed.  I know I need it to keep up my handsomeness!!!

I am a pom as you can see.  And, I weigh a whopping 10 whole pounds!  Yep, that’s right!  I’m a very happy young adult.  My foster mom says I am a bright presence.  I love me some people.  People are pawesome!  In fact, I have not yet met someone I don’t love which means I’m sure to love you too!  I do like to be wherever my hoomans are.  Hoomans are just so cuddly and warm.  I love my hoomans so much that I don’t need much time in the kennel.  I will sleep quietly in there though.  I also hang out in there during afternoons or if my hoomans have to go somewhere.

I like walks a lot and I’m doing well with mastering the leash.   I am getting better everyday.  Since I’m still a young dude, exercise is important.  And sometimes I need some reminders about how to be social when I meet other pups like me.  I have a foster sibling that I like to play with but we had to take it slow when I first met him.  I have a Chihuahua brother but I also have a big hunting dog brother.  I do prefer my Chihuahua brother only because I like smaller dudes like me.

Oh, I also like me some treats.  I never say no if they are offered, but if they aren’t offered, that’s okay too.  I don’t so much need them, just like them if they happen to be around.

I have met the small hoomans too.  I think you call them kids.  I like them and am good with them so if you have them, that might be fun.  But mostly I just want a furever home where my hoomans are around a lot.  I do well in my kennel, but remember I love hoomans!!!  So the more my hoomans are around for me to love on and follow and snuggle, the better I say!

I am also working on the potty training.  I do better with doing my poops outside, but not quite there yet with the pee.  My hoomans put a belly band on me and that helps me a lot.  I do really want to learn though.  I may be young, but I’m smart and I heard that wanting to learn is half the battle.  I am crate trained too.  So you see, I can do it I know I can!!!

I am learning things all the time!  I know “outside” and “go potty”.  Isn’t that cool?  Yuppers, I am a smart one.  Since I am doing so well on my walks with the leash, I do not need to have a fenced in yard.  If you have one that’s great too.

I will do some guard dog barkage if the doorbell rings, but otherwise I’m pretty quiet.  I do bark if my brother barks.  I figure maybe he heard something I didn’t, so you know I have to protect my hoomans.  I hear that some hoomans have other four-legged furries called cats.  I don’t know about those.  I’ve never met one.

So that’s a little about me you see.  I am a very happy happy boy.  Don’t forget that I love my hoomans!!!  And I am a very quick learner!  Yupper, even my foster mom says so!  She says I have “great manners” too.  Who doesn’t want that in a furbaby?  I am very observant and curious too.  So come on, what do you say?  Do you think you might want to meet me?  I am so excited for my furever home!  I’m keeping my paws crossed!  Can’t wait to meet you!

Some of our dogs are obtained from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. Others have come from various situations where they are lacking confidence in humans. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.

ADOPTION EVENTS:

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website:
Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.
All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
