Hello, my name is Wallace, but you may call me Wally if you’d like. I am a young adult male Cavalier King Charles who is easily startled and initially shy but once I get to know and trust you, I love attention and cuddles.

I am crazy about my foster dad and will follow him everywhere…as a matter of fact, I’d follow him to the ends of the earth. My favorite hobbies include cuddling with foster dad, eating cheese and treats of all kinds, chewing on sticks, chasing balls, and playing with toys and other dogs. Truth be told, I’m a bit of a hoarder…yep, I like to hoard toys in my house (kennel/crate). One of my favorite toys is Woodstock. Now, I’m a fairly quiet boy but when my foster brother steals Woodstock I have no qualms about yelling at him and giving him the ‘side-eye’…by the way, I do a great ‘side-eye’ as it’s easy when one only has one eye. Oh, don’t feel bad for me because other than being easily startled, being sans an eye doesn’t bother me at all as long as I can see people coming. I have never met any cats and I am cautious but okay around little people.

My brilliance astounds me! For example, I know what to do when I hear “outside,” “go potty,” and dad’s two-tone whistle…that means “come”, I am leash, crate and potty trained, and I poo while spinning in a circle in the hopes that I won’t have any stragglers cling to my bum. I am a low-key and chill guy who doesn’t even mind having my hair brushed especially when I’m told how handsome I am…I mean seriously, who doesn’t want to be told they’re handsome or beautiful am I right!! I really love being with my people and I get so excited when they come home that my whole bum wiggy-wags and they can hear my tail hitting the sides of my house. Of course, I’d much rather my people be home with me all day, but I know that’s not always possible.

Anyway, dad says that I’m “really fun” and I shed “a lot” but I am an adorable nugget who is looking for my furever home. If you are patient, will love me unconditionally and don’t mind my precious little snores when I nap then I would really love to meet you…soon, I hope. I promise I will love you with all of my being and will fill an emptiness in your life you never knew was there.  Wally

Some of our dogs are obtained from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. Others have come from various situations where they are lacking confidence in humans. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.

ADOPTION EVENTS:

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website:
Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.
All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
