Hello, my name is Randy, and I am a precious and sweet adult male Chihuahua. I enjoy playing and had no trouble at all finding the toy box when I first got to my foster home. This place is like a treasure hunt…I have found toys and a bully stick already and though I will periodically chew on the bully stick, I would much prefer to just carry the stick and toys around the house…foster mom loves it when I carry my treasures around…she thinks it’s “soooo cute” and of course she’s right! I really am adorable if I do say so myself!! My favorite pastime is being held by my humans and I am also a bit of a self-proclaimed foodie because I love pretty much any food or treat.

Since I’m so little…a whoppin’ 4 pounds…children are not a good fit for me, but I am always respectful of cats. I am a quiet boy who may bark a little if I see other dogs outside…I’m just keepin’ up relations…, and I get along fine with the resident dogs with whom I live. Ok, full disclosure, I get along great with my resident sister, but my relationship with my resident brother is fickle!! I like to mess with him by growling at him anytime he walks by me but then I go antagonize him later by pulling his ear…I LOVE to EAR-itate him!!! LOL, I crack myself up…did ya see what I did there?? I’m so silly I know!!

I don’t mind being in the crate (will even sleep all night in there) or traveling in the car and I am leash and potty trained. As a matter of fact, foster mom says I’m a “trouper going outside…” I guess one could call me quite a “pooper trouper”!! LOL, oh my gosh I am really on a roll!! Anyway, if mom ever sees me loitering around the door, she’ll take me outside otherwise she is always mindful of timing and will take me out pretty regularly to help me stay on a good schedule! I even know the “go potty,” command and I am learning “kennel up,” “leave it,” and “come” commands so in addition to being quite the comedian, I am also brilliant!!

Foster mom says I’m “cuteness overload” which is absolutely right. Now I just need to find a patient person who will help me fulfill my lifelong dream of finding my furever home. I am not asking for much…just a home filled with unconditional love and a family who will keep me safe and NOT give up on me. Are you ready to welcome me, a little bundle of cuteness, into your home? I promise I’m worth it and I will complete you!! I hope I will see you soon! Love, Randy!

Many of our dogs are obtained from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.

ADOPTION EVENTS:

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website:
Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.
All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
