Hello, my name is Ian, and I am a very playful male Lab mix puppy who is THEE most adorable puppy in the entire world and I have the most striking black coat you have ever seen…as a matter of fact, I have received so many compliments on how handsome I am that I have lost count. I love everyone I meet whether 2-, 3- or 4-legged and I love to play and get into mischief…you know, like every other puppy out there!! I live with 2 enormous dogs that foster mom calls Great Danes and I love to play with them and follow them everywhere…quite frankly, I have so much energy that I could play all day long so I really hope my new home has a doggie companion with whom I can play and jump on!! Hee, hee!!
I have never met any cats, but I am good with those little people. I love to chew on bones and a lot of other things that are NOT mine…namely shoes so my foster fam has to really watch me because I’m always on the move and looking for mischief. I am very food motivated and I am getting more and more comfortable with my crate training. I will sleep all night in my comfy space after I have whined a bit just to ensure that foster mom and dad are still close by and I can see them. Needless to say, I do not like being left alone and will yell if I am. I know what “go potty” means and I am doing a great job with potty training as long as I can stay on a good schedule and leash training is going well too even though I like to pull on it.
I truly am a happy boy who is simply looking for love and security. My perfect furever home would be with a patient family who will love me unconditionally, keep me safe, will NOT give up on me and that loves life as much as I do. I would love more than anything to make your family complete with my amazingly tender heart so please hurry, I’ll be waiting for you! Love Ian!
Many of our dogs are obtained from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.
This puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void. We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion.
Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee. Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application.
We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward.

ADOPTION EVENTS:
Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.
ADOPTION PROCEDURE:
The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website:
Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.
All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.
FOSTER CARE:
All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications and fill out a foster application.
NUTRITION:
Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets. All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet. All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
