Hello, my name is Patty. I am a lovely young adult female Chihuahua/Dachshund mix who is super playful. I love to wrestle with my resident fur-sibling who I secretly call Stretch and play with my lab mix foster sib puppy that I secretly call Two Bits! Stretch, Two Bits and I have a lot of fun together, but I do admit that sometimes my Chihuahua bossy side emerges if the bigger dogs try to get too friendly with me. I have always had other dogs around me, I cry a bit if I’m left alone and I like my people so much I will do a happy dance whenever I greet them. I may also alert to passersby outside my home otherwise, I’m pretty quiet.

I love sleeping on a pillow or snuggled under the blankets and sleeping with foster mom. I’m a bit of a foodie if you will in that I will eat pretty much anything I find…even if it’s someone else’s food! I have not met any kids or cats, but I am potty, crate and leash trained though I haven’t been on any walks lately because it’s FREEZING outside…who wants to go out in this nightmarish weather…I’m just sayin’!! As a matter of fact, sometimes foster mom has to pick me up to get me to go out in this frigid cold! I’m also smart and know what to do when foster mom says “come” and “outside.”

I am a really fun and happy girl who is simply looking for a safe, loving place I can call my furever home. Are you a patient person who is full of unconditional love and will NOT give up on me? If you are looking for an amazing companion who will love you bigger than the sky and who loves to cuddle, then we are perfect for each other! I promise I’m worth it! Hopefully I will see you soon. Many of our dogs are obtained from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.

ADOPTION EVENTS:     

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
