Hello, my name is Dane and I am a very dapper young adult male mix who is lucky to have such an amazing foster mom who has a lot of chew toys for me because I love to chew…after all, I am still just a youngin ya know and I have tried to chew on her shoes and this soft thing she calls an “area rug”! Anyway, I am a very quick learner and she has taught me that chewing on things that are not my toys is not okay, so I am getting better every day. Foster mom has also taught me what to do when she says “sit,” “wait,” and “out.” I have to laugh at myself because the main reason I know what “out” means is because I like to follow momma everywhere and that includes the bathroom. What can I say, I love my foster fam! I really don’t know why she doesn’t want me watchin’ her go…I mean seriously, I let her watch me…what’s the big deal am I right!!?!!

I have not had any experience with cats, but I am good with kids and other dogs. I am also potty, leash and kennel/crate trained though I will whine for a bit when you first put me in the kennel because I should be with my family not in that cave, but I will settle down eventually. My foster mom and I are still getting to know each other so I have not yet let her hear me bark but I am a Beagle so I’m pretty sure that will come with time! Tee, Hee, Hee!!! I LOVE belly rubs so much that whenever foster mom tries to pet me, I roll on my back so she can rub my tum-tums! I also love playing with my toys including tennis balls, going for leashed walks and eating doggie treats and hotdogs. I also enjoy mealtime…ok, I don’t just “enjoy” it I actually get excited about it and will even try to take my foster fur-sib’s food but I have learned that too, is not okay so now I wait my turn like a good boy…you see, that’s me…Dane, the very good boy! Not to mention that I love to learn new things!!!

I am definitely a total sweetheart who, is simply trying to fulfill my life-long dream of finding my furever home! If you are a patient person who will love me unconditionally, keep me safe and give me lots of belly rubs and are looking for a wonderful companion who will love you unconditionally in return then you can stop looking right now because you have found your perfect match!! Many of our dogs are obtained from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.

ADOPTION EVENTS:     

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
