Hello, my name is QTip and I am a very sweet, happy, healthy female Chihuahua who only weighs 2lbs 15oz, but I am is SOOO full of love that you would think I’d weigh 1000lbs. I love to be held and I am the best kisser and snuggler ever, if I do say so myself!! I was born on 6/2/2019 and for being such a young girl…I’m not bashful or timid at all when I’m at home with my family but if company comes over, or I see strangers outside, I am more cautious and will bark at them to let them know I don’t trust them. Whenever that happens though, foster mom picks me up and holds me so I feel safe then I will stop barking. I love food and treats of any kind, chewing on my bully sticks and playing with my favorite soft, fabric toy, that even has a squeaker, her name is Sauer Kraut and foster mom and I play fetch with her…I haven’t told foster mom what my toy’s name is yet so let’s just keep that tidbit of info under our caps ok!!!
I am also super smart! Not only did I learn my name in less than a week (and actually come when foster mom calls me) but I also know the “come,” and “go potty,” commands. Foster mom and I are now working on “leave it,” “up” and that leash thing but since I’m a bit of a self-proclaimed prodigy, I have no doubt that I will master those soon. I do my personal business outside and on potty pads and I enjoy being in my safe place…or “kennel/crate” as you humans call it. Ok, ya know earlier when I mentioned that I love food…well that is, of course, true but I should tell you that I love food so much that I even try to eat my fur-sibs food so foster mom has started to feed me in my safe place which is ok with me because then I get to dine in peace!! Since I’m such a tiny and fearless girl foster mom always puts me in my kennel when we leave the house because she wants to make sure I don’t hurt myself…I tell ya, there is nothing better in the world than having someone in your life who loves you so much they will do anything to keep you safe!! Well, that’s my foster mom and I really hope that I will be able to find a furever home with the same loving type of person. I am fearful of loud noises, so I don’t know if I like kids and as for those meowy things, well I’ve not had any experience with them but I’m pretty docile so I’m sure I’d be ok with them. I live with a resident doggie and I love having a friend, so I really hope my new home has another doggie companion for me too. Foster mom has these doggie steps going to the sofa and bed and I just love running up them then I throw the pillows off the sofa or crawl under blankets and snuggle in. I also LOVE being outside and since I’m always on the move and afraid of nothing my new home will either need to have a fenced yard to keep me safe or my new family will need to make sure that I am always leashed because I just might venture off to check out the goings-on in the neighborhood. I’m a curious-Cathy so someone will need to watch me closely.
Foster mom says that I have brought “so very much joy” to her life and I know she is going to be super sad to see me go but she knows and understands that my life-long dream is to find my furever home with a patient person who will love me unconditionally and keep me safe. If you are looking for an incredibly sweet companion who will love you unconditionally in return, then please stop looking right now because you have found your little QTip. Please come and take me home so we can begin our life together, I promise I will enrich your life!!
Many of our dogs are obtained from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.

ADOPTION EVENTS:
Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.
ADOPTION PROCEDURE:
The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website:
Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.
All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.
FOSTER CARE:
All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications and fill out a foster application.
NUTRITION:
Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets. All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet. All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
