Hi - my name is Peach, and I am an 8 year old Toy Poodle. I am very sweet, and I love to follow my foster mom wherever she goes with my tail wagging. Two of my favorite things are cuddling and giving kisses, so I hope my forever family likes those too. I am a little anxious when experiencing new things, so my forever family will need to be patient with me as I adjust to my new surroundings. I am very happy in my foster home though; I bounce around, wagging my tail. However, I am fearful in new places, so I shake a bit and want to be held.
I am house trained, and I don’t have accidents inside my kennel. I will even go potty outside in the rain! I am learning the command ‘go potty’. My forever family will need to have a fenced in yard because I am still learning how to walk on my leash and I will freeze up. I do bark when I go in my crate because I miss my people, so my forever home should not share walls as I do not want to disturb anyone. I do not have any teeth, but that does not slow me down at meal time. I get really excited for soft food or treats. I have not developed an interest in any toys yet. If my forever family is home most of the time, then I do not necessarily need another dog in my forever home. I do well around other small dogs like the ones in my foster home. I will need my forever family to be patient and show me that sharing is caring and understand that my behaviors can change in new environments. I am a super happy girl, and I love giving loves. Are you interested in having a sweet girl in your life? If so, fill out an application for me on the Underdog Rescue website.
Many of our dogs are obtained from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.

ADOPTION EVENTS:
Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.
ADOPTION PROCEDURE:
The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website:
Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.
All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.
FOSTER CARE:
All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications and fill out a foster application.
NUTRITION:
Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets. All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet. All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
