Hello, my name is Parker and I am an absolutely adorable, deaf female English Pointer puppy who is extremely lucky because my lack of hearing ability means I get to learn hand signals and I can’t even tell you how exciting that is for me! I’m sure you already know that not everyone knows hand signals and I believe that’s because hand signals are reserved for extremely special souls and I definitely have the most special soul.

Anyway, I am a super silly, sweet, and intuitive girl especially when it comes to my pointing skills. I love to cuddle and chew on buffalo horn and Better Belly rolls, but I am happiest when I’m outside. I do my personal business outside and foster mom gives me crunchy treats when I go to the door then go potty. Now, since I love crunchy treats so much, especially Charlee Bear or Old Mother Hubbard, I go outside like every 15 minutes and I’m not even exaggerating. That said, I should tell you that, although I am very good about doing it outside, I may have an accident if someone’s not paying attention…I try really hard not to, but it sometimes happens. I have also gotten car sick in the past, but it doesn’t happen all the time. I don’t have any fears to speak of, but I will bark if something alarms me.

I have not had any experience with children, and I am good with other doggies as long as they are larger like me. As for those cat things, well, let me just say this…I have a high prey drive and am always up for a good chase…need I say more? (Hee, hee). I am crate and leash trained. Every day my foster mom says she’s taking me for a walk, but really it’s me taking her because when we go walking, only I know where I’m going, so I just pull on the leash to say “c’mon foster mom, we’re going over here to get the news of the day!”… But Shhhh, I let her THINK she’s walking me; however, you and I really know the truth!

I have learned the “down” command and am so eager and excited to learn more. Now, all I need is to find my furever home with a patient person or family who will love me unconditionally, keep me safe, and be willing to help me learn more of those awesome hand signals. If you fit that description and are looking for an energetic companion who thrives on mental and physical stimulation, then you can stop looking right now because you have found your girl. I will be here waiting for you to come and bring me to my new furever home! Please hurry!!

Many of our dogs are obtained from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.

This puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.       We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion.

Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application.

We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward.

ADOPTION EVENTS:

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website:
Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.
All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
