Hello, my name is Lacey and I am a precious female Pomsky puppy who befriends everyone I meet. I am deaf and vision impaired but make no mistake…it doesn’t stop me! I am a great combination of sweet and sassy and quite honestly, I’m a bit of a tease when it comes to showing off my toys to the resident doggies. After all, I have to do SOMETHING to get them to play tug-o-war with me…am I right!?

My favorite things in life (so far) include playing with my stuffed toys, teething toys (earlobes are the bomb), running the length of my fantastic fenced back yard with my fur sister, and chasing after the resident doggies. I have not had experience with children, but I do well with other doggies and I live with some of those meowy things. But, because I can’t see them, I don’t really think I distinguish between them and the resident doggies.

I am working hard on potty training and I know I’ll be a pro once I’m on a good schedule. I have not had much experience with the crate/kennel or the leash and since I’m vision impaired  and deaf, a fenced yard is required in order to ensure my safety. Additionally, it would be super awesome if my new home has another doggie who is tolerant of puppy behavior and would be able to help me navigate my lightless and peaceful world. Some would say “dark” and “silent”, but I like to think of myself as an optimistic little ray of sunshine!!

My foster mom says that I am a charmer and that my tiny pink nose and petite size makes you immediately want to hug me…FYI, that is totally ok with me…I mean who doesn’t love getting some affection right? I am energetic and playful and will often prance around the backyard just to show off my adorable curly tail and to show you that my disabilities do not hinder my zest for life! I use my keen sense of smell to explore the yard and find the perfect stick;  if I sense there is a human or another doggie near me, I may bark. If it’s a human, a gentle touch will reassure me that you’re nearby…I must say that you would probably never even know that I have special needs.

Anyway, if you are a patient person who will love me unconditionally, watch me carefully while I learn new things, and remember that my training will require diligence, patience, and possibly some innovative thinking, (like using different types of touch) then you are the perfect person to be my new BFF. I don’t need to see or hear you to love you unconditionally, so I really hope you hurry up and get here. I promise to totally enrich your life!

Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.

This puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.       We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion.

Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application.

We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward.

ADOPTION EVENTS:

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website:
Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.
All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
