Hello, my name is O’Malley and I am a beautiful healthy adult female Bichon Frise who loves to explore and observe everything. I am quickly figuring out my way in this big new world. I sure hope my new furever home has a back yard for me, so I can safely explore and frolic around.
I have not had any experience with children, cats, or larger doggies. I don’t know if I’d like them, but if my foster mom says it’s okay, I would be willing to meet them. I am crate trained and my foster mom is helping me learn to do my personal business outside. Once I’m on a good solid schedule, I’m confident that I will master it.
I am a quiet girl and I enjoy traveling around the neighborhood taking in all the sights and sounds. My foster parents have these things they call a “hiking backpack” and “pup wagon” and I just love riding in them as I explore my new world. I love my foster family, especially foster dad. I’m not crazy about that leash/harness thing (my body just freezes), but my foster parents take me out with a leash/harness every day to help me get used to it. I don’t really walk with it…instead I have been walking on this thing my foster mom calls a “treadmill” and I am doing a great job on that…I’m pretty sure that as I get better at my treadmill walking, the outside leash/harness walking will improve dramatically.
I have an adorable personality that is really beginning to shine. I am very interested in figuring things out and learning how to become a member of the pack. I love to have my back and head rubbed and rest next to my foster dad on the sofa. I also enjoy bath time and have learned that grooming is a good thing and not really scary. My foster family thinks I am a “jewel of a lady” and they are totally right! Now, I just need to find my new furever home with someone who will shower me with unconditional love. I have a lot of love to share and can’t wait to meet my new furever family!
Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.

ADOPTION EVENTS:
Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.
ADOPTION PROCEDURE:
The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website:
Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.
All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.
FOSTER CARE:
All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications and fill out a foster application.
NUTRITION:
Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets. All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet. All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
