Keep checking back for upcoming events I will be attending!

Hello! My name is Fergie and I am a senior female Chihuahua with a heart murmur that currently does not require any medication. That said, though this may never happen, I need to find a committed furever family who would be able and willing to care for me if the need for medication ever arises.
My tail’s always a-waggin’ and I’m very interested in everything and like to follow my foster mom everywhere. I’m very small though, so you really have to watch where you step because I’m probably right under your feet. I love food and I get very excited at meal times. I also like to curl up and nap on my foster mom's lap and smile at her…yes, I smile and it’s an adorable smile too especially considering that my teeth are in good shape except I only have one remaining canine tooth, which means my tongue hangs out to the right sometimes!
I like exploring outside in the fenced yard and I have discovered little yard frogs (that actually startled me the first time I saw them). The frogs are on the patio after dark. I haven’t been to many places other than the vet, so far so I’m pretty alert and cautious. I am also not crazy about sudden movements, but if I shy away from them…don’t worry, I will come back!
My foster mom says that I’m a “sweet and funny companion to have around.” I’m so glad I make her laugh and smile. I’m not crazy about kids, leashes, or crates. I am crate trained, but will sometimes bark if you leave me in there alone, so if you’re not willing to be in there with me, it would be great if you’d not put me in there at all. My foster mom has a fenced yard, so I’ve not had much training with the leash, but I am open-minded and will certainly work with someone who will be patient with me. I do know the “go potty” command, so that’s a plus! I have never met larger doggies, so I don’t know how I’d do around them, but I really need for my furever home to have another doggie more my size. I’m also not sure how I’d do with cats but would be willing to try if my foster mom says it’s okay.
If you’re looking for a tiny, charming, food-motivated snuggler who will keep you smiling, you have found your match!! Hurry, come bring me home so we can snuggle!
Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.
