Hello, my name is Abe aka Snoop and I am an adorable and healthy male Dachshund puppy who is one of the sweetest and loving little guys around if I do say so myself!  Okay, I didn’t really say that but my foster dad did and I have to say, I agree with him.

My name is Abe and honestly, I am the most adorable thing you’ve ever seen. My foster dad calls me Snoop; I’m not really sure why, but I just accept the fact that he thinks I’m Snoop-dog and I’m more than okay with it ‘cuz he’s as adorable as I am.

I’m very easygoing, friendly, affectionate, and loyal.  I love my humans and my foster fur-sibs. I don’t know how I would do with those two-legged little people because I’ve never been around them, but since I’m so easygoing and really gentle I can’t imagine I’d have an issue with them. I will admit, I’m a bit of a people pleaser…I just like to see my peeps smile. After all, they like to see me happy and I like to see them happy. I really enjoy playing with my foster fur-sibs and just hangin’ with the fam.

I am currently working on maintaining a good schedule, so that I can do my personal business outside, but I am ok with going into my safe place…or as you humans call it…a crate.  I also don’t mind walking while being tethered to that noose thing.  I think my foster dad calls it a leash but whatever, it’s not the worse thing in the world, plus I get to spend quality time with the family and what’s better than that?  My foster dad and I play this game that’s super fun…he’ll tell me to “stay” wherever I’m at and I pretty much do it. Then he might tell me to “wait”…between you and me, I kinda think the words mean the same thing, but I’ll take it ‘cuz that means then that I know two…count them, TWO commands.  How fantastic is that?!

Listen, I feel that I’ve talked about myself long enough now and I would really like to meet you.  I warm up to people very quickly, so if you come see me I’d be willing to bet we’d be the best of friends and remember, my name is Abe and we all know that Abe equals honest so you know I’m tellin’ ya the truth! I can’t wait to see you!

 

Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.

 

This puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.       We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion.

Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application.

We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward.

ADOPTION EVENTS:     

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
