Hi!  My name is Fender.  I’m a 14lb baby Toy Australian Shepherd.  How much do you weigh?  Oh wait…my foster mom says it isn’t polite to ask hoomans how much they weigh ‘cuz I guess sometimes they don’t like that.  So never mind.  But I don’t mind tell you I weigh 14 lb ‘cuz hoomans like to know how big we puppies are.  So, I’m a big boy yes I am and I’m pawesome!

I’m a bit shy initially, but I do warm up quickly.  As a puppy, there is still so very much for me to learn.  Right now I am easily spooked by loud noises or quick movements.  I also am a bit fearful of men too sometimes.  So, if you’re a man, you might need to be extra careful and patient with me, so I can get to know you.  Once I know you, I do really love being with my people.  Even though I am a little timid initially, once I get to know you I’m going to be your best friend.  Do you want a best friend?  Come on!  We’d be pawsome together, especially if you like to have me with you whenever and wherever you go!

I really like bones and peanut butter Kongs.   My foster mom fills it with this yummy gooeyness she calls Peanut Butter and oooo puppy let me tell you it is the most deliciously yummy thing ever!!!!  When I’m not chomping away on yummies I love snuggling with my hoomans too.  Do you like to snuggle?  I’ve even met and like to snuggle with the little short hoomans too.  I think you call them children.

I’m not quite full potty trained yet, but my foster mom says I’m doing really well and am really close, especially when I’m kept on a good schedule.  I’m also crate trained already!  Isn’t that cool?

Oh, and guess what else?  Go ahead…guess!  Are you guessing?  I am becoming a great walkies expert!  I’m learning all about the leash and stuff.  We do walkies every day and I am getting better and better!  So, if you have a fenced in yard, that’s cool, but you won’t need one since me and walkies are getting to be best buddies.

I really like my doggies friends too.  So, if you think you might like me please have another doggie in your house.  I just really like to have a buddy to hang out and play with and snuggle with too!  I’m good with kitties too but doggies are better, so please, please, please, have a brother or sister for me if you think you might want to adopt me!

I hope you like me!  I really do!  I’m keeping my paws crossed because I think having a furever home would just be the most pawesome thing ever.  I really want to be snuggle buddy with someone and once we get to know each other, I’ll be with you furever and ever.  And if you like to hang out together, maybe even outside in the sun, and give me pets and scratches, then I’m definitely the doggie for you!  So, what do you say? Do you want to meet me?

ADOPTION EVENTS:

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website:
Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.
All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
