Hi! My name is Kaiser and boy am I having fun since coming to Underdog!  I'm easy going and a bit shy at first, but I'm gaining confidence every day! I'm not fearful or anything, I'm just taking my time and letting everything soak in. That's just part of my gentle, thoughtful nature. I definitely don't take my time when it comes to food though! Oh boy, do I love food! I also my love toys, chew treats, and hanging out with puppy friends! I get along with everyone. I have to laugh when I see my puppy friends wanting all the attention all the time! That's fine, but it's not my style. I sit back, roll my eyes at their antics and exchange a knowing glance with foster dad.

Oh goodness, I almost forgot to tell you.  I’m a 7lb adult Morkie.  Aren’t I a very handsome fellow? My eyes are something you will probably notice about me. My foster dad tells me they are just about the most expressive, happy, soulful eyes he's ever seen. He says they are deeper and truer than the day is long. Oh, stop! You’re making me blush! Yep, there's a lot going on behind those eyes. Like my curious nature! I love to explore; though, I don't get into mischief like chewing on things I'm not supposed to. Behind those eyes there is a pup that's just itching to come out and play! Yeah, I'm pretty easy going but I can be also be quite a clown. Sometimes I'll come out of my kennel like a bucking bronco, pick up my favorite toy, and prance off into the sunset. It makes my foster dad laugh every time. I do like to make people laugh. 

I do well in my kennel and rarely make a mess. I'm working on potty training and go potty outside every time I'm in the yard. I don't mess around marking or anything, I just do my business!  I don't mind wearing a belly band inside the house in case of an accident.

I am also working on the leash thing too.  Although, I do need more practice since I tend to freeze when I’m on it.  But I’m good at practicing, so I think together we can help me overcome my freezing.  And, if we do, I’ll be good with walkies, so I won’t need a fenced in yard. 

I am great with all the friendly dogs, but I’m not so sure about cats or children since I’ve never met any.  I’m pretty docile though, so it might be fine. 

Although I have found my voice, I don't bark much. When I have something to say, I'll express it through my eyes. My foster dad tells me I'm just about the sweetest, most handsomest pup ever and soon I'll have my very own family that will tell me the same thing! I can't wait to meet to meet you!

Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.

ADOPTION EVENTS:     

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
