Hi! My name is Zeke! I'm a lot of energy in a small body. I love to play with my foster fur sisters as well as my foster dad...but mostly I like to cuddle with them all. Our favorite game to play is what my dad calls the Spanish Dance...we tap our paws and then we make moves on each other and it ends up being a wrestling match. It's so much fun!!! When we tire of playing we all head for our foster dads' lap and fight for space. He loves to give us back scratches and rubs behind the ears. He even lets us give him kisses...and I try to give him as many as I can!

I love car rides! We go in the car all the time on short trips. I'm always good in the car. I stay buckled up and like to look out the window at all the strange things we pass. I even say hi to people who pass by. I haven't mastered going down stairs yet but I'm working on it. I can go up the stairs but I get afraid and nervous to go down. I've noticed my foster dad always leaves a treat for me at the bottom of the stairs to get me to come down but I don't usually get that treat unless he helps me step by step to go down. I like to have people around. If my foster dad disappears I will let him know I'm not too happy with him by barking and whining until he shows up. He's usually out of sight for a few minutes. I'm okay in my kennel if I'm with my foster sibling/s. At night I get to sleep as close to my foster dad in his bed as I want. I even have my own bed next to his pillow that I share with my foster siblings.

I love treats! When I come in from outside (on my own) I get a special treat. My foster dad is trying to get me to do something called "Sit" and when I "sit" I get a treat. I LOVE popcorn! If my dad isn't watching the bowl of popcorn I will sneak in and take as much as I can without him knowing. Sometimes he will sit and watch me help myself so I know it's okay with him when he lets me "sneak" it when I don't think he's looking. I haven't figured out the big deal with the squeaky toy thing yet.

Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.

ADOPTION EVENTS:     

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
