This AussiePoo pup is Rachel. She’s just a sweetheart! Above everything else, she just wants to snuggle next to you on the couch. She's a 15lb bundle of love who will happily be at your side all day every day. She's warm and wiggly towards humans but unsure of other dogs and the outdoors. She's working hard on building up her confidence. Rachel does not like it when dogs jump on her to play; this makes her scared, so she either needs a home with no other dogs or calmer, passive dogs until she gains more confidence in playing.
Rachel loves cloth toys the most and sometimes confuses blankets and pillows as toys, but she is quickly learning what to chew on and what not to. She also loves a bully stick but had some tummy issues after the last one she ate, so she is taking a break from them for the moment. Rachel is happiest chewing on her plush rabbit toy while snuggling with her foster parents on the couch. Although Rachel would happily toss away the rabbit toy just to be closer to her foster parents, as her favorite thing to do is hang out with humans. She gets so sad and will cry if you leave the room and leave her alone in a kennel.
She is good with dogs that respect her space. She doesn't quite understand when other dogs want to play and she will get scared and will nip to tell the other dog to leave her alone. She does great with correction and is learning quickly that she doesn't need to be so afraid of other dogs!
Rachel also does not like to be outside quite yet; it's still unfamiliar and scary (really any place too far away from humans is scary to her right now!). Every now and again though Rachel forgets she's outside and will show her true puppy side by picking up a toy and running around for a bit (sometimes even playing with her foster siblings!) before remembering where she is and running back to her foster parents. Rachel is working on potty training and is making great progress using the fenced yard in her current foster home. Foster mom says she is working on leash training and thinks Rachel would be okay living in a home without a fenced yard. With time we feel that Rachel will blossom into the confident, playful dog she is meant to be! She's so happy and full of energy once she gets comfortable in her new home she will be the most perfect puppy. She needs a patient and loving forever home who will work with her on potty training, leash walking, and overcoming some of her fears.

All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.
FOSTER CARE:
All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications and fill out a foster application.
NUTRITION:
Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets. All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.
