I am Lass and I am new to rescue. I am almost 7 years old and weigh 11 pounds. 

This life in a home is new to me and there is so much to learn! It is overwhelming sometimes, but I am brave and my foster family is so nice to me. It's wonderful being loved. I am very shy, but curious about the adults in my life. I like to peek around the corner to see what you are up to. Yes, it's as adorable as you imagine.

Even though life in a home is new to me, I am already house trained! We haven't started leash training yet, and I may need a little extra support going inside from bath room breaks. W e are working on stairs and I'm doing great. Learning things one step at a time! Literally! (see, I'm funny, too!).

I like to be around the resident dogs and am friendly with all the pups I meet, though I haven't met any larger dogs yet. You won't hear many peeps from me, as I am very quiet. I also like a more calm and quiet environment myself; loud noises startle me. Who likes loud noises anyway?

Even though I can be wary of people right now, I love being cuddled. I want to melt like butter. As I adjust to my new life, I need a family/person who can be patient with me while I learn to be a dog. I think with a little time and love, I will thrive and be so happy. Will you give me the chance to make YOU happy?!

Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.

ADOPTION EVENTS:     

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
