Good day hoomans.  My name is Kalden and I am just a baby (10 weeks old) Tibetan Terrier.  Currently I only weigh about 5 pounds, but as you know, as I grow I’ll get bigger!  I cannot wait for that!

I’m not potty trained of course.  Being a baby means I don’t always know when I have to go, so I have been having accidents in the house.  But the good news is that I am going potty outside when I’m asked.  And if I’m on a schedule, I am doing well.  I also still potty sometimes when I’m in my crate.  I just do not like to be alone, so I will bark and whine to make sure you know I don’t like it.

I am a very goofy, playful and sometimes am a clumsy little guy.  I’m most comfortable when I’m home with my foster family so when I’m in public, I do tend to be a bit more reserved—not scared necessarily, but just reserved.  I do not like to be left alone.  If my foster mom walks out of the room, I immediately try my hardest to go find her right away.  I have learned how to climb out of a baby gate and a crate!  Ha ha ha, aren’t I smart?  I told you I like to be where my hoomans are and I meant it!  I learn things very quickly.  My foster mom is teaching me that just because she leaves doesn’t mean I won’t ever see her again.  I’m learning that she will come back.  I also have a very big voice for being such a small dog!  I like to think that is just because I have things to say!  So right now I do use my voice a lot.

I love to play, but I also really like to cuddle.  I do not, however, like to be alone!  Remember—I love my hoomans!!!!  Toys are also super fun!  In fact, I can even make toys out of things that aren’t designed to be toys!  For example, I found a water bottle and used that as a toy and had the best time!  The toys that are good to chew on are my favorite right now.  My foster mom says that’s because I’m teething - whatever that means.

Although I do like to explore outside, I do not need a fenced in yard.  I’m doing well with the leash so as long as I get to do walkies, I will be fine without a yard.

I have not met those tiny hoomans or kitties so I’m not sure how I’d be with those.  I am good with small dogs though.  Big ones I’m not so sure, but only because I haven’t met any.  If you have another doggie that might be fun but it isn’t necessary so long as you would be home most of the time.  I just really hate to be alone though, like really really hate it.  So maybe if you could have a doggie brother or sister for me that might be good.  It really depends I guess on how often you are home to shower me with love.

Since I’m still very much a baby it might be best if my future family knew about doggies and has had doggies before.  You see, I’m quite a barker (remember when I said I like to talk?) and I just really am afraid of being alone.  So, if you know how to work with me on that and if you have lots of patience to work with me as I learn (remember, I’m also quite a fast learner) that might be best.  I just know I’ll be a great doggie for someone though!  I just know it!

This puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.    We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion.

Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application.

We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward.

ADOPTION EVENTS:

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website:
Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.
All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
