Hello all - my name is Ike. I’m a 5 year old, 30lb Cocker Spaniel. One of my favorite activities is laying on the couch while getting some nice human time including cuddles and kisses. I also enjoy exploring the house or running around the yard with my foster sister. I don't quite know how to eat treats. I tend to suck on them and then spit them out. I do like bones though! I simply love having something to chew! I am good with young children and do great with all friendly dogs. I would sure love one in my furever home too!
Guess what?! I am house broken. I’ve learned to go to the door to show I needed to go potty! Yah me! I am not quite sure how to walk on a leash, so I need someone who will work with me on perfecting my leash training. I do not like it when there are loud noises or commotion either. When I feel scared I tend to freeze up. I do well on the leash until I see strangers or if there is a lot going on around me. With more practice and patience, I know I will do very well going out on a leash for potty breaks and exercise. For now, though, I do need a fenced in yard.
I am very good at coming to my foster moms when they sit down and I hear them call for me. I do not know my name very well but am learning. I am very smart. I know what 'no' means and will move onto something else when I hear that word. I’m good in the crate but need to be prompted to go in. I am quiet too and never bark.
I’m looking for my best furever home. I would do great in a low activity home as my most treasured thing to do is sit on the couch and get belly scratches! If all this sounds good to you, come and meet me sometime soon.
Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.

ADOPTION EVENTS:
Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.
ADOPTION PROCEDURE:
The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website:
Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.
All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.
FOSTER CARE:
All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications and fill out a foster application.
NUTRITION:
Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets. All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet. All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
