Hiiiiiiiiii!  I’m Oz!  Isn’t that a cool name?  I think so.  I’m an English Toy Spaniel/Poodle mix.  Isn’t that cool too?  I’m a puppy and I weigh 15 pounds!  But since I’m a puppy, I’ll keep growing you know!  Puppies do that.  Aren’t I cute with my fun white curly hair?  And just wait until you meet me!  I have a great spunky little attitude!  I mean how can you not when you get rescued and are awaiting a new furever home????

I absolutely love other smaller dogs!  I haven’t really met bigger dogs, but if they are nice like me, they’d probably be okay.  Dogs are just the best!  I like to be their little shadow.  I tend to do everything that they do.  It’s just so fun!  Plus I am learning so very much by following them around all the time.  I wonder if they like that I follow them around?  I love to run outside and play.  I tend to gallup more than run, especially when I am happy, which I tend to be a lot.  And, I’m doing more and more tail wags every single day.  And I’m also starting to learn my name, and learn how to do doggy things and it is just so very much fun!  Being a dog is awesome!!!  Cats might be okay too, but I haven’t met any yet.

I can be a little timid at first when I meet people.  I still hesitate a bit to come up to people to invite them to pet me.  If humans try to pet me I tend to move way.  I’m still learning about humans and how nice and safe they can be.  I don’t hide from them, but just more uneasy until I get to know you.  And I’m not really sure how I feel about children.  My kennel is my safe place so if I’m scared I like to go there.

I do not like to be on a leash at all.  I buck it like a bronco!  It is so very scary!!!!!!  So it is very critical that I have a fenced in yard to run and play in!  Plus, since I’m still a puppy and learning, I am a flight risk, so since I’d want to be with you furever, it’s probably better for you to keep me safe.  Plus did I tell you how much I hate the leash?  I do.  Have you ever worn one?  They are just the worst things ever!!!  I’m sure that I maybe could get used to them with loads of practice and loads of patience from a nice and caring human, but that’s a big maybe!!!  Did I tell you how much I love being outside in a fenced in yard?  Well I do, in case you forgot!!!

I am also starting to learn from the other doggies in my foster house that toys can be really fun.  I have a donut squeaky toy that I like and I also really like squeaky ones.  I also like, as you know, to play shadow with my foster brother and sisters.  They are really good doggie teachers!  Oh, and looking out the window to see what might be happening outside.  Did you know there are things like birds and squirrels and leaves outside?  Mostly though I love running and playing with my doggie friends.

Although I am learning and doing quite the good job if I do say so myself, there are still many things I am scared of.  I just avoid those things though, because I don’t like to be startled.  But remember, I’m a puppy and am learning every day!  And, when you learn things you get braver, did you know that?

I’m not quite fully potty trained yet but am getting closer.  Since I’m still a baby, I also have to go potty in the middle of the night. Usually around 2 or 3 in the morning, but I am really good because I let my foster mommy and daddy know by crying.  Once I do that they know I have to potty and they let me out so I can do my business.  Then it’s right back to sleep for us!  I do pretty well especially when I’m on a schedule.  I am also crate trained, but I tend to bark if I’m in my crate.  I bark if I cannot see my foster siblings or if I’m alone.  So having another dog in my furever home is critical!  I just won’t feel comfortable without having another doggie to be with.

I am still very shy as I embark on this learning adventure called life.  But, I am getting braver every single day!  And, every single day I’m learning more about how awesome humans can be.  My foster mommy tells me that I’m going to make someone “the sweetest dog”!  Isn’t that nice?  And I didn’t even tell her to say that!!!  Anyway, thanks for stopping by to read all about me!  Maybe someday soon we will meet!  Have an awesome day okay?  I’m off to play with my puppy friends!  Bye for now!

ADOPTION EVENTS:

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website:
Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.
All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
