Hello, my name is Kitty aka Shira and I am an adult Shiba Inu who is quite a diva in my own mind thus the alias. Ya know, every diva must have an alias.
Anyway, let me tell ya a bit about Ms. Kitty. I am very sweet, but will admit that I’m afraid of almost everything. Let me count the ways: loud noises…doesn’t everyone have the same great hearing that I have?? I don’t understand why anything would need to be louder than a human speaking, it just doesn’t make sense to me. Additionally, quick movements and a lot of commotion terrify me. Why is everyone and everything in such a hurry? Well, I’ll tell you how I handle those stressful situations, I just hide away somewhere where I can be alone with my thoughts and meditate.
I am my own dog and though I love cuddles and scratches, I will let you know when I’m ready for them you don’t need to come to me…I will definitely come to you…or any other person when I’m ready. I enjoy all big people and every animal (yes, even those meowing cats), but since I’m afraid of almost everything, those little people scare me; they’re just too loud and quick for me, so I prefer to not be around them at all.
I love to be outside soaking up that vitamin D; it doesn’t matter if we’re hiking, walking, relaxing or I’m running laps in the yard for hours (we diva’s need to stay in shape ya know). I just really love being outside. It would be nice to have a fenced yard so I can run laps, but I am also perfectly fine with the closeness that comes with leash walks and relaxing, so a fenced yard is not a requirement for me. I may be a diva, but I’m not THAT high-maintenance.
When I’m not soaking up the rays, I love relaxing in my bed and eating chicken…not that I eat chicken in my bed…though I would if you gave me chicken in my bed…I’m a diva I’m not dumb! If I gave you chicken in bed, I’m guessing you’d eat it too. Now I’m hungry, stop talking to me about chicken!
I am completely crate and potty trained and will only do my personal business outside. I am a Shiba after all and I like to always be clean. I also don’t bark and yes, that’s a Shiba thing, but it’s also a Ms. Kitty thing…I’m afraid if I bark too loud I’ll scare myself and we don’t want that, so I just keep my vocalizing to my Shiba yodel.
Last, but certainly not least, I loves me some cuddles!! I love unconditionally and respect my peeps and would love to find a home where I receive the same unconditional love and respect in return. If you are that home please come meet me. I know we will fall in love!
Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.
