Heidiho there people!  I’m Paddy!  Thanks for stopping to learn about me.  I’m a 12-pound Pomeranian puppy.  My most favorite thing, the thing I love more than anything else is to play and get attention.  I play very nicely with toys.  I’m learning about the fetch thing but haven’t quite gotten the hang of it.  Stuffies are super awesome!  In fact the bigger the better!!!  E ven though I’m a wee little one, I can handle stuffies that are way bigger than me!    I dare you to find a stuffie that I cannot handle.  Go on I dare you!  Oh and have you heard of bones?  I have and although it is still a bit new, I am starting to figure them out and they are fantastic!

During the day and at night I get to stay in this super fun open play pen.  Even though I’m a puppy, I do very well in it, which means that I don’t have accidents in there.  Can you believe it?  I know sometimes I cannot believe it either but it is true!  Sometimes I do have accidents if I’m left out and no one watches to make sure I go outside.  If you watch and keep me on a schedule I do pretty well and keeping my business outside only.  As a puppy, I am still learning those things. Although I like my play pen, I much prefer getting to stay out and about.

I have met lots of other dogs, cats and people even those little people and I love them all.  I am just excited and love to meet new creatures; although, at first I can be just a little tiny bit tentative about getting to know them.  I’m learning about trust though.  If you have another dog at home, it might help me learn that humans are nice and friendly more quickly, but like I said, I am learning and trying really hard.  Some humans love this thing called cuddling.  I don’t really know why.  It just isn’t for me much.  I’d much rather play.  Playing is just the most fun!  And eventually I will get sleepy (honest I will) but I like to sleep in my own space.  I don’t think that’s so weird though, don’t you like to sleep in your own bed too?

I love to eat.  Do you love to eat?  Food is just so yummy.  I get to have access to food and water all day (even in my play pen), but I prefer to not eat alone so I tend to wait until my humans are home.

I also like all the good smells I get to inhale when I’m outside on walkies.  A yard is nice, but I don’t really need one.  I’m working on leash stuff and although I need a bit more practice, I think I’ll be good to go soon.  At first the leash and walkies were a bit scary because I just didn’t know what to expect, but every day I’m learning that there are good things to see and smell on walks!  I also don’t really bark, except if I’m left outside and I want to come back in.  When I am ready to come back inside, I will bark to let you know.

Whew!  That’s a lot of information, huh?  Well, I figure that the more you know, the better.  So that’s it - that’s me.  What do you think?  Do you think we should meet?

This puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.    We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion.

Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application.

We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward.

ADOPTION EVENTS:

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website:
Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.
All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
