FUN CITY DOGS — Sat, March 10 12:30pm – 2:30pm — 2213 Snelling Ave Minneapolis MN

Hi everyone! I am Nita. I’m a happy playful 9-10 pound 6 year old gal.  I can be submissive to people and other dogs, but basically I’m also the friendliest girl around.  I can even make crabby dogs love me! I am pretty brave and adventurous around the house and have gained a lot of confidence in my foster home but can still be a little shy too.  My foster family says I’m adorable and that my tail is constantly wagging and when I’m really happy my whole backside wiggles!

My favorite game is to run while all the other dogs in my foster home chase me.  I just love playing with my doggie friends!    I also love to follow the humans all around the house. Humans do the most interesting things and if you follow you often get treats or scratches. I found out that treats are yummy and I will gently take them from your hand once you become my friend. I also like to chew nylabones, bully sticks and play with stuffed animals and ropes. Toys are a whole new world of enjoyment for me!

I am doing great on house training and have been going outside on a leash, oh and I’m loving playing in the yard! I love to sleep in bed with my people at night and don’t worry I won’t take the whole bed.   I am also crate trained; though, I will bark for a bit once I’m in there because I want out so I can be with you.  I can be trusted to be contained to a room though with my doggie friends.

I’m good with all sizes of dogs. I would prosper in a home with another dog too. Since I am more submissive I’m sure I’d do okay with cats and small children as well.  I am usually quiet but will bark when alarmed sometimes.

All in all I’m just a good girl with a blossoming personality looking for my perfect furever home. Who’s ready for all that I have to offer?

Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.

ADOPTION EVENTS:     

Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

ADOPTION PROCEDURE:

FOSTER CARE:

All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.

NUTRITION:

Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
