Ramona is the sweetest little girl! She is 8 years old and 8 pounds.
She loves human attention and wiggles her whole body in excitement whenever she see's someone coming her way. She is such a brave and curious little girl. If she's not getting snuggles on the couch, you can find her trotting around the apartment looking for an open cupboard to investigate or a new crevice to sniff. While adventuring around the apartment, she makes sure to to trot back to a human every couple minutes to check in and get some love. She has some small milky spots in her eyes, but she appears to have no vision issues and also finds her reflection in glass doors and mirrors very interesting. She's beautiful!
Ramona is very quiet and has never barked; the only noise she makes is the click of her nails on wood floors! She can remain calm in a crate, but prefers to sleep in a larger area, like a pen.
Ramona gets a little stressed out if there is too much commotion. She doesn't have any negative behaviors, but if things get too noisy and wild, she will start to pant and appears to be very anxious. She would do best in a calm home with calmer pets. She is not interested in playing with other dogs and will give a polite little growl to her fur friends if they overstep.
Ramona's absolute favorite thing in the world is to be pet while snuggling on the couch. She is happiest sitting on you and will tap you with her paw if she thinks you should be scratching her head her while you sit together. She can sleep happily for hours on the couch! This silly girl will dance on her hind legs when you walk past her to ask to be pet, and if she see's you lean over, she'll come running to see if she can get any more pets out of you. Ramona is interested in toys, but isn't quite sure how to play with them yet.
Ramona is currently learning about potty training and she's doing great! She does not like the snow/ice and won't go on any cold patch - but with some patience and encouragement she will go on a shoveled patch of grass. She's learning from her foster brother the rules of going outside. She's currently about 50% potty trained, and needs a patient forever home and some warmer weather to help get her the other 50% of the way! She uses a potty pad in her confined pen consistently.
Clearly, this little sweetie is a gem and she is ready to find her forever home!
Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.

ADOPTION EVENTS:
Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.
ADOPTION PROCEDURE:
The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website:
Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.
All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.
FOSTER CARE:
All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications and fill out a foster application.
NUTRITION:
Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets. All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet. All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
