Hi there! My name is Earl and I am an Old English Sheepdog. I don't know why they call me an OLD English Sheepdog since I'm still so young at only 3 months old. My foster mom says I'm the cutest fluff ball she's ever seen! I am very playful and outgoing and love to chase after leaves in my yard. If I'm not distracted by the leaves, sticks, and bugs, I like to just follow my people as they walk around the yard. So far I really don't like having a leash on. When a leash is on me, I decide to either pout and not move an inch or I try to get it off me by trying to back out of my collar or biting at it. I'm persistent so I know at some point my foster family will realize I don't want that thing on me and will just give up! It would be great if my forever home had a fenced in yard for me so I don't have to train another family how to not use a leash on me!
I like to be really close to my people all the time. I love being loved so much that I just don't want them to forget about me so the closer I can be to them, the better! If they leave me in a room of the house by myself, I like to let them know that they have forgotten about me by barking until they come back for me. It's especially hard when they leave to go to work and I have to be alone. I sort of panic for a bit and bark to see if they come back but I'm starting to learn how to calm myself down after a while. I have to remind myself that they always come back for me and to try to remain calm! While I figure this out, it would be best for me to live in a single family home where there aren't any shared walls.
I have gotten several baths since coming into rescue. My foster mom says I need to get used to grooming since I'm going to have long hair some day. I don't mind getting a bath and getting combed, it actually feels kind of nice! Plus you will melt when my fur gets wet and is out of my face so you can see my baby blue eyes! I am not yet potty trained but I am trying very hard at it. I've only had a few accidents in my house and they really were accidents! I sleep in my crate at night right next to my foster parents' bed. I sleep almost through the whole night but when I wake up because I have to potty, I bark to let my parents know that I have to go outside right away! I've never had an accident in my crate! I also really love other dogs. I have big foster sister that wrestles and plays chase with me. We are the best of friends! I haven't met any small humans yet but I think I would love them. I am still a puppy with sharp nails and teeth and am a little rambunctious, so older children that won't tip over if I bump into them would probably be best. Once I'm all played out, I really like to lay next to my people. I have a lot of fur so I get hot easily but I still like to be touching when I'm napping! I also give the best hugs ever. If you pick me to be in your forever home, I'll show you just how great my hugs really are!

ADOPTION EVENTS:
Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.
ADOPTION PROCEDURE:
The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website:
Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.
All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.
FOSTER CARE:
All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications and fill out a foster application.
NUTRITION:
Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets. All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet. All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
